He is one of the rare few people we know who actually has found a way to make a living as a full-time musician. He plays about 250 local shows a year and also can be commissioned to write a song for your anniversary, birthday, graduation, or any other important life moment you want to capture in song. Welcome Becca Rae! Songwriter extraordinaire based out of Southern Pines, NC. Her original music has been featured on national television, and her work in the local music community earned her the "Best of the Pines" award in both 2017 & 2018. Becca Rae has opened in concert for superstars like Loretta Lynn and Montgomery Gentry, and she's shared the stage with modern songwriters like Gary Hannan and Lacy Green. Today she will be playing "Someone Else’s Song", "How Lonely Looks On Me", "At Least I Tried". We played "Bad 4 Business" and "Emerald".

#62 Joe Newberry at The Neville's Quarter Show

We are star struck today with our guest Joe Newberry who is a North Carolina transplant and bit of a celebrity in songwriting circles. His achievements musically are nothing short of impressive. He has had songs recorded by The Gibson Brothers“Singing As We Rise,” featuring guest vocalist Ricky Scaggs, won the 2012 IBMA “Gospel Recorded Performance” award. In 2013, Joe shared co-writing honors with Eric Gibson for the IBMA Song of the Year, “They Called It Music.” Joe was often a frequent guest on Garrison Keillor A Prairie Home Companion (now called Live from Here), and was recently featured on the Transatlantic Sessions tour in the United Kingdom with fiddler Aly Bain and Dobro master Jerry Douglas.

We are honored to have him here at Neville's Quarter. Joe will be playing his tunes: "The Marks", "The Darker the Night, the Better I See", and " Singing As We Rise".We will be playing “Bluegrass On My Mind” and “Chasing Crickets”

We are out tonight watching a concert by Mipso and I'm With Her! But don’t you worry we have left you in good hands with our globe-trotting friend Gabriela La Foley. She plays "Busy Line" "He's Tall, He's Large, He Tells Me He's in Charge, But I Know What Tickles His Fancy", "I'm Going to Build Myself a Boyfriend out of Lego" and "The Country Song".   We play "Song for Every Day of the Week," and "What Do I Know?".

Happy early Valentines Day! Welcome the dynamic duo “Sharing Secrets” comprised of the multi-instrumentalist Berkeley Grimballand songwriter Danielle Koppel. Berkeley is probably best known for his saxophone playing with the band Too Much Fun, but tonight he is sharing his acoustic guitar playing while performing with the amazing vocalist and songwriter Danielle. They will be playing their tunes: “Two Lines” “Sweet Days Ahead” and “ One Song Man”.

Since Valentines Day is tomorrow we decided to play a set of love songs. We will be playing our tunes “What Do You Dream About” and appropriately “Secret To Tell”.

They are the owners of the legendary Doodad Farm in Greensboro, where they host and promote music from all over the world. Dean spends a lot of time and energy finding ways to put the spotlight on others, but today the spotlight is on him.

The last time we saw Tim Smith Band he was leading a parade of hundreds of people through the Shakori Hills Grassroots Festival of Music and Dance grounds playing “When The Saints Go Marching In” on his saxophone. If you have spent any period of time in Carrboro chances are you’ve seen him playing one of his many instruments already. Today he will be sharing his original music.
